It's Been Years!

I always think it hasn't been that long since I've done something and then I realize just how long it's actually been.  I don't even know if anyone blogs anymore??  I thought I'd take some time while watching football and see when the last time I was on my blog was.  Holy cow!  So I thought while I was here I would look around and starting going through all the links I had and how sad to see so many sites closed.

I feel like people are still head over heels for the crafts they love I just wonder if they don't have time anymore.  So many stores closed also.  Sad.  I also wonder if everyone (myself included) gets all their inspiration from Pinterest now?

I haven't stopped making cards - I have taken some time to teach myself how to sew - I will never be a seamstress heehee!!

Still loving my Copics!

I hope everyone is still out there and creating good stuff!  xo

Loooong Time No Post

I can't even believe how long it's been since I've been active on my blog.  I threw myself head first into a new craft (sewing) and have completely neglected to do anything card related in months and months.  I got it in my head I wanted to learn how to quilt.  Fine.  First I needed to make friends with my sewing machine.  My husband bought me a sewing machine a few years ago and we have had a love hate relationship!  I couldn't see to master the simplest of skills such as threading a bobbin much less getting the bobbin where it was supposed to go and actually getting that darn little thread where it belongs.  My daughter tried to show me I don't know how many times and I just couldn't get it.  So I sat down one weekend with my manual and my machine and was determined to get it.  Hours later success and sort of a feeling of finally knowing what I was doing!!  So I've spent a lot of time practicing and making a mess and I've finally got a handle on some of the basics.

I'm sure some of you are laughing at me because I know this is something done everyday by a million people and I just couldn't get it~!!  So I've finally made a couple blankets and I'm still doing lots of learning but I really do enjoy it.  I've also gone back to crocheting which I hadn't done in forever either.  So while I've been creating I just stopped making cards.

Then a girlfriend of mine opened her own business and said "hey, make me some cards I will throw them on the counter and see if they sell".  So back to card making it is.  I literally forgot exactly how much I loved making cards.  So I'm trying to find a balance to do all these crafty things at once and still manage to go to work everyday!  Hope all has been well with all of you and hope to get back into the blogging world also I see I've missed an awful lot of awesome projects on all your blogs! Hugs to you all.

Cute Sassy Cheryl digi colored with Copics.  This little piece of velvet pink ribbon is the last piece I had of it - I don't remember where I got it but it is so pretty and I had been holding on to that last piece!

It's been a really long time since I've participated in a challenge - I entered this into Cute Card Thursday's Summer Colours challenge.

Have a nice weekend everyone~

Waiting On More Snow

We had made it without any measurable snow for so long!  We got about 2 feet last week and it sounds like we might get another foot tonight.  My poor tiny doggie hates the snow!  It's been a busy few weeks and there has been little craft time but I made this card.
Cute High Hopes image - love the bright colors.  Colored with Copics, added some flowers, ribbon and button.  I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday - we are just waiting on the Super Bowl (like everyone else!)

Happy New Year!

Hoping everyone is enjoying 2015 so far!  I spent New Year's Day in my craft room all day - crafting and watching American Horror that my daughter got me addicted to!  Still playing with Penny Black stamps.

It's supposed to snow a little tomorrow (finally) which means the husband will be at work so while he's gone plan to do some more crafting.  I have so many different projects going I have to complete something!  I'm submitting this to 7 Kid's "Anything Goes" Challenge.  Thanks for stopping by!  xo

Almost a New Year!

The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas flew right by!  A friend of mine puts some of my cards out in her shop for me and she texted me yesterday and said "get to working on Valentine's!!"  So I pulled out an oldie but goodie Penny Black to start with.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!

Is It Really Thanksgiving Already?

I'm going to stop apologizing for not posting and just get my act together!  I go through these phases where I let other things occupy my time like a crazy person and then I realize that what I really want to be doing is sitting in my craft room watching the latest horror movie and making some cards!

I did get married in September so that took a lot of my time, it was a very small wedding on the beach by my folks house, just close family and friends and then we had a nice dinner.
Mark and I with my daughter Angelina.  A few weeks after the wedding was my daughter's Sweet 16 party!  It was a busy but blessed time.

I have been feverishly working on Christmas cards and I wanted to share these two with you, went back to some of my good old favorite Penny Black stamps.

I love the chickens and frogs!  Hope everyone is well and see you soon!!

A Card and a Challenge!

I'm getting married in a couple weeks so life really has been crazy but I had a few hours in the house by myself and thought "get to your craft room - make something".  So I did!  I checked out the High Hopes Challenge Blog to see what challenge they had this week and it's "Buggin Out" so I grabbed this older image for my entry.

Here are the Copics I used for this project:
So thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

At Least A Post!

I have no projects to show, I have been about as far away from crafting as I have ever been.  I can't stand it but yet I can't seem to get myself back in there.  I went out yesterday to my favorite spot, The Inspiration Station, and bought some paper and some new stamps.  Do you ever go through such a dry spell?

I keep blaming it on getting married soon and being busy and my daughter making run around like a lunatic but the fact is I just can't seem to stop myself from wasting time doing other things!

So here is to hoping that my purchases yesterday will get me going again. I hope everyone has been well and you have been creating beauty!

Finished Product

I forgot to upload these pics during the week, here are the two cards all finished.  I used another Sassy Cheryl digi over the weekend to make a cute card when it's all together I will snap a pic of that one.  I continue to struggle with lighting, I've tried inside, outside, natural light inside, Ott lights, I tried a light box but I don't ever seem to get it right.  Feel free to comment with any suggestions!!  Hope everyone had a nice weekend, we are still waiting for the trees to start blooming it still looks like winter here.  Thanks for stopping by~
